PARAMHANSI GANGA ASHRAM
(1) In order to fulfill our ancestors, sages and Maharishis and Acharyas should provide most of the family members who are easily struggling in the field of work should get new freshness of body and mind so that they can bear the difficult burden of the world.
(2) That’s why the provision for Ashrams has been made. There Ashrams have been established in the picturesque lap of nature-dense forest covered with vegetation, availability of cool and sweet water have been the two basic condition for the construction of the ashram. These are the places of devotees of the god.
(3) These Ashrams are present in different parts of India, but in this area of Madhya Pradesh. There were no such Ashrams or sanjeevan dispensaries for the tired, hardworking householders tell about half a century ago. Being the region of Narmada, I urged to bring freshness from Narmada on Amavasya, Poornima and other festivals. But did not provide the spiritual, ideological dose in the way it should have.
For the sake of this vision Pujyapad Anant Shree Vibhooshit Dwarka-Sharda Peethadheeshwar and Jyotish Peethadheeshwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shree Swaroopanand Saraswati ji Maharaj selected the most useful area for the establishment of Paramhansi Ganga Ashram, for the benefit of the people.
In view of well organized plan in this vast area this holy Ashram is famous as a holy place in the central part of India.
All the activities of Revered Maharaj Shri would be conducted. with the spirit of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah”, are then to ask about the many usefulness of this Paramhansi Ganga Ashram situated in ascetic part. The peace that is achieved from here in divine property that are revealed in it. To explain it our Brilliant thinkers had given up by saying “indefinable”.
Truly this is a great blessing of Maharajshree on this area, our ancestors must have done good and virtuous deeds, that is why we, as their descendants got this holy Ashram of Paramhansas.

Great and brilliant great men have incornated in the sacred holy land of useful land of India. In the series of those great men, Pujya Maharaj shri was born in the year 1981 Vikram Samvat Shuklapaksh Bhadrapad Tritiya (2nd September 1924), Monday at 1 o’clock in the night and Kanyakubj Brahman family, father “Shri Dhanpati Ji Upadhyay” and mother “Smt. Girija Devi Ji.”
Later he has been named “Pothiram Ji” Here ‘Pothi’ means ‘Shastra’ and ‘Ram’ means Brahma.
Yogiraj “Swami Shivananda Ji” predicted that this child (Pothiram) would be bright but detatched and withdrawn. Its fame with through out, the entire globe.
Child Pothiram was about 7 years old when his father passed away in golok. This incident disturbed his mind. The thought that all living beings in the world will have leave the five physical bodies one day the mother became worried with the mental state of the child. Ultimately, with great pleasure he bowed to his mother and took her blessings and left his home at the age of 13.
Pujya Shriji Charan was in Madhya Pradesh for 2 years, while living alone in forests, he would on the banks of river Narmada. While pursuing his studies he came in Narsinghur district and started studying sanskrit school these and the year 1940, He left for Kashi. Sanskrit study in Kashi along with Ved Vedanta, Nyay Vedanta and special, he got all of them from “Shri Karpatri Ji Maharaj” and “Maheshwaranand Ji Maharaj” He also get benefitted from the Satsang of sages and saints. In 1941, in U.P he got sanskrit educationat Rampur Sanskrit Pathshala. The people there were fascinated his nature and appearance.
All the same time when the sturggle for the freedom of India from Britishers were going on, Pujya Maharaj Shri joined freedom struggle. When the slogan “British Quit India” was raised, Maharaj shri with a great zeal involved with several movements. Maharaj Shri had to undergo nine months imprisonment in Varanasi Jail on the charge of cutting the wire in Chandavli
town, While being an active participants in the revolutionary activities along
with the Satyagrahi students of Kashi Hindu University. After the Independence of our country Pujya Shri’s charan was re-established in Brahmanghat (Barman) under Narsinghpur district.
Pujya Maharaj Shri, came to Shrinagar, 15km far from Gotegaon, the camp of Poshwas and at a distance of picturesque hilss. Maharaj Shri remained engrossed here. Stayed in the temple of Gauri Shankar in the village named ‘Jhont’ he became a saint. There he started teaching at the village children. The villagers there easily accepted him as Swami with his glowing complexion, sweet voice, fast pace pleasing speech and depth of knowledge.
At the age of 26 on Paush Shukl Ekadashi in 1950 Pujya Shri got Dand Deeksha from the Jyotish Peethadhesshwr Jagadguru Shankaracharya Brahmanand Ji Maharaj at Kolkataand became famous by the name “Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati Ji.”
In order to liberate Indians from physical divine and materialistic
troubles, for the resistance of untruth and for public welfare, respected Swami Shri Hari-Haranand Saraswati (Shri Karpatri Ji Maharaj) on the special request of Maharaj ji accepted the Chairmanship of Ramrajya parishad, established by him.
The anti-cow slaughter movement started in 1954. Pujya Maharaj Shri started Satyagraha.
After the demise of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Krishna Birth Ashram Ji Maharaj Jyotirmath on 7th December 1973, Pujya Maharaj Shri was ceremoniously consecrated in Delhi as the 45th Jyotish Peethadhesshwar in the presence of eminent scholors of Kashi Vidvat parishad and the holy Shankaracharyas of three peethas.
Seeing the continuous social services, religious devotion and tireless ideals efforts of Pujya Maharajshri, Pujya Swami Shri Abhinav Sachchidanand teerth was extremely impressed. As a result in his will Maharaj Shri was described as an ‘ideal Sanyasi’ and it was written that Jyotish Peethadheeshwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Swaroopanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj who is an ideal Sanyasi, should be requested to take charge of the past of Shankaracharya of ‘Dwarka Peeth.’
Therefore, after the demise of the then Shankaracharya Ji of
Dwarka Peeth as per the will and on special request of the people of Gujarat on
27th May 1982, Sringeri Peethadheeshwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shrimad Abhinav Vidyateerth Ji Maharaj handed over Pujya Maharaj Shri to the 78th Shankaracharya of Dwarka Sharda Peeth. The formal inauguration on the post was completed.
Taking forward his historical works Pujya Maharaj Shri for the first time in Sumbat 2060 Chaitra Shukla Paksh Trayodashu, Monday 15/04/2003 at 4:11 am two yound Brahmchari were given initiation into Dandi Sanyaas at Shri Vidyamth Kedarghat Kashi who were declared by Dandi Swami Sadanand Saraswati and Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati. yogpatt respectively.
Pujya Maharaj Shri announced Paramhansi Ganga Ashram as the Pancham peeth among all Peethas. In the work of all his life Pujya Maharaj Shri propagated “Shri Vidya” and constructed several temples of Amba “Raj Rajeshwari Lalitamba Maa Tripur Sundri.”
Pujya Maharaj Shri got its his salvation at the age of 99 on 11th September 2022 at Paramhansi Ganga Ashram. On 10th September 2022, Sunday he Breathed his last here.
After the solvation of Jagadguru Shankarachaya Swami Shri Swaroopanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj, but even before giving him Samadhi the successors of both Peeth was selected for the vacant Peeth.
Swami Sadanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj has been made the head of Dwarka Shardapeeth and Swami Avimukteshwarananad Saraswati Ji Maharaj has been made the head of Jyotish Peeth Badrinath. Their names were announced in front of Shankaracharya mortal remain Shankaracharya personal Secretary Brahmchari Shree Subuddhanand Ji the names of these successors.
